June Professional Development Days:
PS 19 will be using Monday June 25th and June 26th as Professional Development days. Please sign and return the bottom portion of the letter so we know you are aware of these changes.
Middle School Selection
Please check your child's bookbag for the note that went home yesterday, May 23, 2012, regarding middle school for next year. There is a slip to sign off showing you are accepting the placement at PS 19. Please be sure to sign the slip and return it Friday, May 25.
Field Trips
Throughout the month of May 5-309 will be taking field trips to enhance our learning. The dates and locations of these trips are:
May 29, 2012: Central Park Zoo
Please know that on May 29, students will need to bring a lunch to school. We will be eating at the Central Park Zoo and will not return to school until after lunch.

May 28: Memorial Day, school closed
May 29: Field trip to Central Park Zoo
Web Site Updates
We have updated our websites to provided your children with the resources they need to review skills at home. Please encourage your children to use these sites often. These web sites will be great support tools as we move forward in preparing for the upcoming NYS Math and ELA exams.
Reading Summaries
Students are required to read 25 books by the end of the school year. We use reading summaries to monitor and track your child's progress. We recently changed the format of the summaries. Please look under the "Our Classroom" link on the sidebar for the new summaries. Feel free to print them as needed.
Homework Reminders
Click on the My Homework link to see the daily homework.
Please make sure your students are doing their nightly reading. For this week, they should be reading 40 minutes a night with a minimum of 30 pages..
