Weekly Reading Activities Homework

  Reading: One of the most important parts of homework in first grade is student need to read for 15 minutes daily each month.  Choose books for your child that they can succeed with but also challenge them.  Books that have the sight words used for the week, or spelling words, are ideal.  Reading homework will be assigned Mon. and Wed.

Homework is expected to be returned the next day.  If a student does not return the homework, a parent is expected to contact Mrs. Wright in regards to the reason, on the day that it is due.

2/13-2/17 Reading Activities:  Please talk with your children about  the stories read throughout the week, and review the word wall words (www) on a daily basis.

Story 1: June and the Mule   By: Eric Kimmel

                              A girl ropes a mule-shaped cloud and then rides it back up inot the sky so it will make rain.
