Algebra I

Algebra I may be one of the single most important classes taught in high school.  Students who do not complete Algebra I are not able to enroll in a number of classes, such as geometry, chemistry, and certain computer classes.  Therefore, it is very important for Algebra I students to do their best to understand the material that is taught, to ask questions when unsure, to stay caught up with the progress of the class, and to pay attention and take notes during class.  This may require as much as 45 minutes of homework each night, on the average.

Vocabulary is key to understanding in most classes, including Algebra I.  Students will be given a list of vocabulary words and phrases for each chapter covered.  They should use their books to define each for their notebooks.

Parents - Stay on your kids to study for tests and quizzes, which are usually on Fridays!
