Riverside’s Mission Statement: The mission of Riverside School District is to prepare all students to be productive and responsible citizens of a changing global community by fostering:

Course: 10th grade Language Arts

 

Classroom: Room 222 

 

Classroom Hours: I am usually in my classroom at 7:00am through 7:25am and during 9th period by appointment.  You may schedule a time to come see me for any academic reason or you can just stop by if you see me alone in the room.

 

Mr. Trescavage’s Objectives: Upon leaving this classroom in June, you will:

 

*       Become a more proficient writer.

*       Have a better understanding of the writing process.

*       Be able to identify and correct grammarical mistakes.

*       Be able to identify the major parts of speech.

*       Be able to compose a clear thesis statement.

*       Be able to uncover satisfactory research material.

*       Be able to identify appropriate web sites for academic material.

*       Be able to combine different sources found through research by following a clear thesis statement.

*       Be able to identify and utilize MLA Style.

*       Demonstrate the ability to use more complex vocabulary in everyday writing and speaking.

*       Develop a richer appreciation for literature (fiction and non-fiction).

*       Be able to identify and utilize characteristics of fiction writing.

*       Be able to identify major authors, painters, musicians and their works.

*       Be able to develop an appropriate academic Power Point presentation.

*       Feel more comfortable reading and understanding aspects of a work by William Shakespeare.

*       Understand some of the aspects of theater and acting out a play.

*       Demonstrate the ability to function cooperatively within a classroom and group setting.

*       Leave a little better than when you came into the classroom.
