Fourth Grade Curriculum Fourth Grade Curriculum

See what we're studying!

The emphasis of the ELA program is on the continued maximum growth of the student in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The McGraw-Hill Anthology is comprised of six units and incorporates vocabulary, comprehension, listening, grammar, spelling and study skills into each selection. It is an integrated approach to language arts.
The students are writing every day so please keep those pencils and paper coming! They will write using a variety of formats: personal narrative, comparative writing, explanatory writing, persuasive writing, expository writing and writing a story. Students will also have the opportunity to write letters, interviews, research reports, poems, etc.

Spelling Lists

Spelling Pre-tests are given each Friday, with the list going home for review over the weekend. Post-tests are given on Friday for all students.
