My wife, Deborah (also a teacher), and I have four children.

Tim, 23, graduated from Ave Maria University in Florida and is in his first year at St. Paul Seminary. Paul, 25, graduated from the University of Minnesota and works at Ameriprise in Minneapolis. Carolyn, 31, received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida and is an assistant professor of education at Nova Southeastern University in Davies, Florida.  Jeff, 32, received his M.B.A. a year ago in May from Columbia University and works for Neuberger Berman in New York City.

I can’t forget our two smallest family members, our four-year-old chihuahuas, Bear and Petey J.
