Eighth Grade Assignments

All students are responsible for keeping up with novel reading assignments. Students may come in any morning at 7:45am, or Monday through Wednesday after school, to keep up with reading assignments.
Assignments will vary by hours. Quizzes will be randomly given throughout the week, so it is essential that students keep up with the reading assignments. Monday, February 6 -

Quatrains and Cinquaind -
Homework Assignment: Write 2 Qauatrains and label the rhyme scheme (you must use 2 different types) and 3 Cinquaines (1 about a core teacher) -
Students need to remember what is appropriate when writing poetry. Wednesday, February 8 - Narrative Poetry

Thursday, February 9 - Ballad Poetry - "El Paso"
- Free Verse - "Easter, Wahiawa 1959"
- Diamante homework assignment
Friday, February 10 - Limericks and Haikus
- Homework Assignment - write one of each type of the above poetry
- Poetry Vocabulary Test
