Graphs Graphs

Graphs

Graphs are used to represent data collected. It is important to know when to use certain graphs.

Line graphs are used to graph data over a period of time. For example, the total amount of sales over a year.

Bar graphs are used to compare many different things. For example, favorite movies.

Circle graphs are used to compare one thing. For example, how did David spend his allowance for ONE month.

Stem and Leaf Plots

Stem and Leaf Plots are another way to represent data collected.

The leaf is the digits in the ones place value.

The stem is the digits in the tens or tens and hundreds place value.
