The goal I have for your child is independence.

Before you know it your child will be in Kindergarten. Kindergartners need to make decisions, line up, raise their hands, and express their needs and wants. Kindergarten teachers tell us that the main indicator of success in school  is not whether or not a student knows letter and numbers by the time they enter the classroom, but rather if the child has behaviors that are compatible with learning  - e.g. attention span, the ability to follow directions, and ask for help when needed.

 I hope you share this goal with me.

Supplies

I do not have a set class supply list. If you would like to donate to the classroom please send in batteries (AA), art supplies, and wipes. Please refer to the following question when throwing things away at home, " Could Ms. Jeannie use this for a creative art project?" If the answer is "Yes", then send it in!

Schedule

Per Cobb County website rules I am not allowed to post our schedule online (for your child's safety). Please ask me to send one home if you would like one.

Visitors

I encourage family members to visit. If possible let me know ahead of time so that I may get the students ready for a change of routine. A great way to visit your child is to be a "mystery reader". The students LOVE it, and the anticipation is exciting for them.

Home/School Communication

I send home a communication notebook every night in your child's book bag. Please sign it and return.
