Speech therapist - Ms. Laura joins our team this year. A Speech Pathologist with over 18 years experience, she is a native of Louisiana and a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. She and her husband, who is also and educator and coach, moved to Georgia two years ago. Together, they have a Labradoodle puppy, a preschool daughter and look forward to welcoming their second child in September. As she begins her third year with the Cobb County Preschool program, Laura expresses her excitement for the upcoming year and is confident she has lots to offer our program. Occupational Therapist - Welcome to Special Needs Preschool at Dowell. My name is Ms. Lisa and I am the Occupational Therapist for Ms. Jeannie's class. I am originally from the ST. Louis area, but have lived in Cobb County for 20 years. I am married with a son who is a junior at Hillgrove High School and a daughter who is in 7th grade at Lovinggood Middle School. I have been an Occupational Therapist for 22 years, and have been with Cobb County Schools for 4 years. I am looking forward to the new school year and lots of fun and learning!! Special Ed Nurse - Hi! I am Ms. Lisa C., the special education nurse for Dowell Elementary. I addition I support the Allatoona High School cluster of schools. This is my 4th year as a special education nurse, but my 24th year as a nurse! I grew up in Iowa, but came to Georgia by way of Boston, Massachusetts... While in the northeast I married the most wonderful man and we have four children. Our oldest started college at Georgia State this year, so I am feeling "old"! My twins (the youngest) keep me "young" because I HAVE to be, just to keep up with them! I love serving the special kids on my caseload. Each summer I also volunteer for summer camps and this past summer I got to be a nurse at "ESP" ("Extra Special People") camp at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia. I find my work very fufilling and enjoy supporting the teaching staff and being a part of your child's team. I am looking forward to a great year!
