Contemporary World Studies

The goal of this course is for students to gain an understanding and respect for the values, customs, and views of people from around the world in order to be better able to interact with them. Students are introduced to cultures from different regions of the world and study their values, customs, and beliefs. Additionally, students discover how physical environment, history, politics, and economics affect the lives of people. Assignments and projects require students to conduct research outside of the classroom. Supplemental readings are be expected. Class reading and writing assignments with follow-up requirements are expected. This course is a graduation requirement.
