Competition's Calendar

To Be Announced

Once students have been accepted to compete in Academic Decathlon or Octathlon, coaches will give them a calendar for the entire year with specific dates, assignments, and all competition events. A general calendar is: 

April and May: students work on organizing materials for summer study. Students also begin to discuss their prepared speech.

June through August: students meet during the summer as a group at school, as small study groups at home and prepare speech, read their novel, and study Super Quiz.

September through December: continuous study, practive, testing and two meets in October and November. The team is picked in December.

January and February: Decathlon - Regionals and State competitions. If the team is fortunate enough to advance to nationals, study continues through April with the competition at the end of the month. If not March through May will be used to prepare the newest topics for next year.

January through April: Octathlon - Study continues through late April regional competition.
