Cunningham Autism Resource-Cunningham

 

Welcome to the webpages of Jeanna Cunningham, Mary Hamacher, and Soonshik Schroen!  We are staff from one of the autism resource units at Camp Creek.  This year our students are in third, fourth and fifth grades.

  

Jeanna C. Cunningham  

 

Mrs. Cunningham is in her 16th year in special education, including work with children with emotional-behavior disorders, learning disabilities, and children on the autism spectrum. Before her foray into education, Mrs. Cunningham was a promotions assistant with Geffen Records and also worked in human resources at Georgia State University’s Pullen Library.  She holds a bachelor’s of science in Commercial Music (GSU – 1989), a master’s in special education (Behavior Disorders, West GA Univ. – 1996), and recently completed her master's in school counseling (GSU - May 2010).  She holds a National Certified Counselor credential. She is currently pursuing her Ed.S.  at GSU in school counseling.

 

She lives in Tucker with her husband, Oliver, and their Springer Spaniel, Nelson and tortoise shell cat, Millie . When Mrs. Cunningham is not studying for classes, she enjoys reading (for pleasure), singing, and playing the piano.

 

Mary Hamacher 

Mrs. Hamacher graduated magna cum laude from Oglethorpe University.  She received a B.A. with an emphasis in the areas of psychology and business.  She has over twenty years of healthcare experience including human resources executive and training and development facilitator.  Mrs. Hamacher owned a healthcare human resources consulting firm for eleven years prior to joining the Gwinnett School System.  She facilitated outplacement workshops and specialized in process improvement, department design, recruiting, training, and auditing for government compliance.  Mrs. Hamacher has worked in Special Education for over five years as a Paraprofessional Educator.  She enjoys gardening, decorating, and travel.  She lives in Stone Mountain with her husband Al and has one grown daughter.

 

Soonshik Schroen

 

Mrs. Schroen is originally from South Korea, where she earned her secondary school teaching degree from Kyung Buk National University. She has been working in Special Education classes since 1999. For the first six years, she worked in a self-contained mild autism class and now works in an autism resource class.

 

She lives in Lawrenceville with her husband, two children, and a cat. She enjoys the History Channel, traveling, foreign and classic films, and passionate conversation with good friends.
