Welcome to the 7th Grade Assignment Page

 

9/02/09

Today we spent time getting acquainted and discussing new rules and expectations of the class.  We had a great day and I'm expecting a great year.

HW:  Have a parent or guardian please sign your rule sheet and return it by Tues., Sept. 8.

9/03/09

Today we worked in small groups on a reading engagement exercise entitled "Did You Know?"  We will finish them in class tomorrow.  Reading skill:  Noting Details and Comprehension.

HW:  Interview 5 adults and find out where they were born. Ask if they still live within 50 miles from where they were born. Bring results to class tomorrow.

Today we finished working on our reading skill packet, "Did You Know?".  Students did a crossword puzzle over the reading material.

HW:  Those who did not quite finish reading packet may finish over the weekend and bring back Tuesday for review and credit. 

Don't forget to return the signed expectation sheet.

Today we began taking notes over chapter 10.  Continue working on Reading skill L. 1.

Today we took a short noun quiz. Students were given time after the quiz for SSR to prepare for book reports.

We worked on Greek roots today.  We also began a new vocabulary unit.

HW:  First two pages of vocabulary unit are due tomorrow.  Please highlight context clues.

Today we continued our Greek roots review. 

We also checked our vocabulary pages 13/14.

HW - Pages 15-17 due tomorrow - 1st hr...Pages 16-17 - 5th hr.

Today students took a formative practice test for reading. (Reviewed and used SQRRR method)

Students continue to take AR tests and finish up book report requirements for the quarter.

Tomorrow - last day for AR tests!

Second quarter

10/26/09

Today we discussed 2nd quarter book report requirements.

We discussed background on the author of the "Jayhawker" and began chapters 1/2, reading and logging vocabulary words.
