The Adventures of Flat Stanley

Welcome to the Adventures of Flat Stanley! We have recently finished reading Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. Scholastic.com gives a great summary of the book by saying, "Stanley Lambchop is a nice, average boy. He leads a nice, ordinary life. Then one day a bulletin board falls on him and suddenly Stanley is flat: four feet tall, one foot wide, and half an inch thick!" Stanley has many great adventures while he is flat and even helps to solve an art theft! After reading about Stanley, our class thought that it would be fun to have our OWN Flat Stanley go on an adventure with each student in the class! We have one Flat Stanley and one journal that has already started to float around the room. Here's What to Do: When your student gets the Stanley and the journal, they are 'allowed' to take Stanley with them everywhere. Stanley can go with you out to dinner, to sport practice, to the store, on the swings, etc. That night, your student is to write in the journal what they did with Stanley! Directions are on the back of the journal so everyone will know exactly what to do. Our class journal will go home with a student on Monday and they should bring it back on the following Monday. That way it can go with another student for the following week. This rotation will go on until every student has had a chance to be with Stanley! Then What? After everyone has had a chance to be with Stanley, we're going to add our add our beloved journal to our library where everyone will get the chance to really see just where Stanley has been! Think of the fun Stanley will have! If you have ANY questions, please let me know!
