Unhappy with your Child's School Pictures?

Friday, November 13th is Picture RETAKE day. If you are unhappy with your child's pictures, send in your old pictures and let me know and we'll have them retaken. Thanks!

Veteran's Day

Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day and there is NO SCHOOL in honor of all those who have graciously served our country. Please take a moment to think and reflect on those who have given so much so that we can live free.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Coming!

Parent Teacher Conferences are November 16^th – November 20^th and we will be dismissed at 12:30 daily. I want to make as many options available to you for times – so I am going to be holding a few conferences after school on both Thursday, October 12^th and Friday, October 13^th. In order to have valuable conferences with each person, I am going to schedule ½ hour conferences with each parent. Please be on time for your conference. Below is a list of times that I will be holding conferences. Please sign up for your top 3 choices – and I will post on our webpage the time of your conference.

You are even welcome to email me your preferred times at jmcneil@sandi.net. Also, please note that if I do not hear from you, I will be assigning a conference time. I will update the available times on our webpage daily – so please check there for your time and other available times.

I received this notice in my email today and thought I would pass it along to parents ... Here goes:

Hi everyone, tomorrow you will find School to Home Communication envelopes in your boxes. These are to go home each Thursday with any school info and are to be returned to you, empty or with a signed paper, every Friday. We have decided not to laminate them due to cost considerations.

So, these envelopes will go home for the FIRST time on Thursday but must be returned with our regular homework folder on Fridays. Thanks!

Jog A Thon

Get your jogging shoes out because our school Jog A Thon is coming up on Wednesday, November 18th!

Helicopter Landing!

The Helicopter Landing was fabulous! We were fortunate to see both the SDPD and SDFD land their helicopters! We also saw the SWAT team, Sheriff, Border Patrol, Fire Engine and Coronado Police Department! What a day! I will post pictures soon!

Healthy Eaters Field Trip

We're going on our FIRST field trip to Albertsons Grocery Store on Waring Road! This is a field trip that goes along with what we're learning in Mrs. Shepard's Health class. Thursday, November 5th from 9:00 - 10:00 is the actual field trip - but the times of the field trip will be from 8:30 - 10:30. We should have an amazing time AND get to learn at the same time! Field trip forms and driver information will come home soon!

Don't forget to check out www.spellingcity.com for all of your spelling words. You can have the game teach you the words, you can play games with the words and you can be tested on your spelling words.
