Those of us who are not willing to work for our future are bound to surrender our destiny to others. Only those who commit themselves to labor will attain the fruits thereof. Those fruits will not come easily; they will not come without diligent effort, consistently applied. But found among those fruits will be your just deserts: the tools and skills necessary to effectively, thoughtfully, and honestly participate in our government and our economy.
This is the race that we have been charged to run, and the reward at the end of the contest is much more than the opportunities and material things that are available through a good education. The reward will be found in later years: in the preservation of our environment, and in the hope of future generations for the world that we desire today.
