D.P.S. 5k Run for Kids

On October 10th,  D.P.S. will be hosting the 5th annual DPS 5k Run for Kids at Columbia High School beginning at 10:30.  It is a very unique event as it is only open to children in grades 2-6.  We have yet to find a similar race that is just for children.  Many offer 1 mile races but not a 5k solely for kids. The race takes place on the 2.8 mile cross country trail on the Columbia High School campus.  It is a gorgeous run through all of the changing maple and oak trees as well as the stoic lodgepole pines.     Last year we had 125 kids participate in the race.  It was a very memorable day and we're anxiously awaiting this years race! This year we are also excited to welcome Fleet Feet Sports to the big race.  They will be presenting an abundance of great information on how to go about choosing which running sneakers are the best for you.  It promises to be very informative as they have helped thousands of Capital District runners figure out what to wear on their feet when they run!  We are excited to welcome them aboard!

Registration forms will be available to print out on September 15th.  Look for it then!
