MATH

We are using the Harcourt math series in second grade.  We will be reviewing and learning new concepts each day in math.  Our first unit will cover numbers, operations, and data.  Each unit will consist of approximately 4 to 6 chapters and each chapter will consists of approximately 5 lessons.  We will have a test at the end of each chapter and a unit test at the end of each unit. We also will be developing our problem solving skills and learning to work through story problems in the PSSA format later in the year. The first half of the year we will concentrate on addition and subtraction with and without regrouping.  The second half of the year we will practice our regrouping skills and include telling time, money skills, and measurement. Please click on the current math unit in the sub category for more information about what we our working on in class.
