Notify the press by email and follow up with confirmation phone calls (explain the show and ASK THEM TO STAY FOR THE DAY....the difference between a quick picture and class interviews):

Special services for us:

  1. Pizza donation for our cast party
  2. Someone to videotape morning show so that you can see it for the first time. Must have cables for camcorder-to-vcr-hookup to be able to play back in my classroom.
  3. Hairdressers for updo's etc. and makeup application (remember, you cannot wear make-up TO school for first couple of classes).
  4. Bottled water

Special services for guests:

  1. Room mothers can organize can organize a lunch buffet for guests who will be taking extended lunches to see the show.
  2. Program design with school logo on the back  
  3. Inside of program (typed)
  4. Thank you list (insert)
  5. Class schedules are compiled after finding out when our guests are coming.
  6. "Radio" ads

General:

  1. Theme decorations (make or buy)-committee
  2. Props (mike stands, karaoke machine)
  3. Cleaning and decorating day before (EVERYONE)
  4. Passing out Programs and ushering (everyone)
  5. Roadies always ready to help
  6. Lighting
  7. Cleanup of buffet area and removal of all props and instruments after final show (Everyone)

 

Ms. Hernández must receive confirmation of these things being done (printout of e-mails, notes from people volunteering to take time to help, responses to letters, etc.) to  be able to help with thank you notes.  It is necessary to follow through, especially with media coverage, with follow-up.
