Cubism
It's about shapes and Space |
|
Cubism is: - simplified (made in an almost unskilled manner)
- stylized (more like a design that an actual representation)
- flat (two dimensional)
- geometric (using basic shapes)
- angular (lack of modelling and natural curves)
- shows multiple points of view (seen from different angles all in one picture)
- has overlapping planes (areas and shapes which appear to shift or tilt)
- after the invention of the camera
- used principles of African Art
3 Kinds of Cubism - analytical
analyze shapes - geometric
- also known as angular (no roundness)
- faceted
