On Level--Reading: Due to the short week we will not begin the next lesson in our readers. We’ll finish “Chuck Cluck” and work on skills from the second grade readers.
Above level readers—This group will finish the reading skills from last week and finish our Magic Tree House chapter book.
Spelling: The words for this week are a review from other lessons.

Dictation Sentence: You have to be first to win this race.
Math: We’ll finish chapter 29 on double digit addition and subtraction. The test will be on Wednesday.

Click on “The Learning Site”, Math, and then Harcourt Math (books on top). Go to chapter 29 in grade one or chapters 7 and 8 in grade 2.
Beginning in April we will be going to the lab every other day to work on the Success Maker Enterprise (SME) reading and math program.
The children enjoyed working with their fifth grade buddies to figure out the mystery message left by the leprechaun last Wednesday. We look forward to getting together with our buddies this Thursday for our field trip.
Science: We’ve finished our study of the planets and will review this week as the children color, cut and paste the planets in order. After spring break we’ll begin a unit on plants.
Social Studies: This will be our last week to work on our Florida packets. Our next unit will be on American symbols.
Please help your child complete the state study paper and return it by April 9. We’ll read them in class to learn more about our great country.

We’ll celebrate spring with a pizza party. Please send $3.00 to help cover the cost of pizza, fruit, drinks, and treats. Please send in 10-12 stuffed eggs for our egg hunt on Wednesday.
Our field trip to the water plant is this Thursday. Remember to send $5.00 to help pay for the bus. Please let me know if you would like to chaperone.
The field trip forms have been turned in for approval for the Florida Museum and Embracing Our Differences. The dates I have planned are:
