Writing Writing

When I'm not busy teaching or working in the library, I write. Writing is meditational for me, and many of our students love being able to create by writing as well. There are lots of great writing sites out there, and here are a few of my favorites. As always, please be aware that information on the Internet is always changing, and since these sites allow students to post their own work, please evaluate these sites to ensure that they fit in with your family values.

A collection of sites from the American Library Association about writing:  http://www.ala.org/gwstemplate.cfm?section=greatwebsites&template=/cfapps/gws/displaysection.cfm&sec=21

A site from the United Kingdom that allows students to post their own work: http://www.kidsonthenet.org.uk/create/index.cfm

A step-by-step "how to write" site from author Corey Green: http://www.coreygreen.com/storytips.html
