JG Vocabulary Task Cards JG Vocabulary Task Cards
I have been working on these vocabulary task cards off and on for the last two weeks. I can't seem to come up with general ideas that any classroom can use. So I put extra cards on there for you to come up with some ideas.  As always, change them to suit your teaching style.

A neat website was listed on one of my web rings that I thought I might try this year.  I like the way they have divided it into vocabulary words for each week.  I especially liked the idea of my students reading in the top 10% at the end of the year.  Check it out.

I thought I would put the list in their take home folders each Monday (go over them every day) and we'd discuss the list on Friday.  Any words they didn't know, we'd go over and look up or at least discuss.  As you can tell, I'm not sure what all to do with the words...but I really liked the lists they provided.

On the Voc. Task Cards I added (fill in the blanks) poetry.  So there's several sheets after the cards for you to pick and choose.  Some of them are very easy and others are harder.  I think poetry fits in nicely with vocabulary, but you can always use them where they are needed.  Joanne
