Chapter 6  -   Transformations

      In this chapter, students will learn about the 4 transformations.  They are Reflections, Rotations, Translations and Dilations.  They will also learn about lines of symmetry and how to use a geomirror to reflect certain figures. Students will;

• Determine whether a figure has reflection symmetry and to find the lines of symmetry for figures that do.
• Construct the reflected images of points and geometeric figures over a line with the use of a geomirror.
• Recognize rotational symmetry. 
• Determine the center of rotation and the angle of rotation.
• Construct the image of a figure under rotation and to create the new figure with rotational symmetry.
• Translate points and figures given a vector of translation.
• Understand how to compose transformations and to analyze the results in terms of  single transformations with the same result.  
• To enlarge or shrink diagrams on a coordinate grid by multiplying or dividing coordinates.
