Students should be thinking actively about and researching possible science contests, events, activities, and/or community-outreach projects to undertake for their Student-Initiated Projects (SIPs). Students shouldn't just limit their ideas to projects that they think I want to see. What I REALLY want to see is students who are EXCITED about their project ideas!
If you are considering Science Fair for your SIP, please make sure you check out the Science Fair section of the website and watch the Getting Started PowerPoint.
If you are considering a contest for your SIP, please make sure you locate and read over any rules or handbooks provided on the contest website!
VADE MECUM: If you are new to our class, be sure to check out the documents in the Vade Mecum (handbook) to get an idea about class expectations (see the menu on the left).
CALENDAR:Add your event or birthday to our class website calendar. Click "Post Event" in the upper right hand corner. I encourage students and parents to also add any events, important school dates, or major holidays that might interest others or impact homework time.
IN A MILLION WORDS OR LESS:If your child is new to the gifted science program, be sure to check out this homework assignment for parents.
