Report Cards and Progress Reports Grading Reports

Provided there are no interruptions in the school year,
Report Cards are given to the students at the end of each six weeks grading period.

Progress Reports are generally issued to students three weeks following a Report Card Date.

FYI:   Progress reports DO have to be signed and returned to the homeroom teacher, just like the Report Card.  Returning the progress report is not for extra credit, nor can points be deducted if it is not returned. However, it is the direct instruction of the school district that teachers collect these reports in a timely manner.

Report Cards "must" be signed and returned to the homeroom teacher.  If you would like to trim off the bottom portion of the report card and send that back, then that is fine.  If an adequate amount of time goes by and a student has not returned this official document with a parent signature
, Mrs. Sharon Lee, our Principal, will step in with appropriate discipline and a call home to see what is causing the delay.

If at anytime you are interested in your child's progress during the middle of the normal reporting period, and you are not able to participate in Parent Portal, please ask your student to get a print-out of their progress from the appropriate teacher.  Yorkville teachers only have access to the students and grade/subjects that they teach on a daily basis.  Yorkville teachers cannot issue a report concerning another teacher's grade or subject.

Before you ask a teacher to print out anything concerning grades, please check your Parent Portal.  If you have lost your Portal notification sheet or have forgotten your password, please call the Gibson County School District Office.  Passwords are obtained through this method only and each family has only "One" password for all siblings.
Individual teachers did NOT write down your password. We have our own.

Students may also request "missing assignment" reports at anytime. Once again, this information is located on Parent Portal.   Students who are absent due to sickness have 3 school days to make up missed work and tests.  Most teachers are very considerate of this issue and give ample time for makeup work to be completed.

If I send home "math only" progress reports, they will be  colored coded.  These do not need to be returned as they are from my classroom only and not part of the junior high comprehensive reporting format.
