About Mrs. Cohn
I would like to provide you with a little information about myself. My husband, Joe, and I live in Webster with our daughter, Jya. I have two sisters, one is a teacher here in Rochester, and the other, my identical twin, is a principal in California. My husband's sister is a retired teacher. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Keuka College, and I earned a Masters of Science Degree from S.U.N.Y. @ Brockport. I have permanent New York State certification in Elementary Education grades N - 6. I began my teaching career in 1986 at Holy Trinity School on Ridge Road in Webster. In 1986 I taught first grade and continued teaching first grade for eight years. I then moved to third grade and taught at that grade level for four years. Seeking to grow professionally, but stay in Catholic school education, I decided to ask for a transfer within the Monroe County Catholic School District. I was hired in 1998 at Good Shepherd School in Henrietta. For two years I taught second grade and then was asked by my principal to move to fifth grade, which I did. I remained at Good Shepherd School until 2004 at which time I saw that there was an opening here at St. Rita School for a fifth grade teacher. I applied, interviewed, and was hired by Sr. Katherine Ann. How fortunate for me!!! I taught fifth and sixth grade science for three years here at St. Rita School, and became the Academic Intervention Coordinator in 2007. Since my decision to become a teacher, I have been committed not only to education, but to Catholic education. It is the only place for me! I am truly blessed by God to be a Catholic school teacher at St. Rita School. What a wonderful community! I am blessed to be a member of this family! Thank you for sharing your children with me!
