Welcome! The purpose of this site is to provide Students and Parents of the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart access to course materials, and events happening in the Guitar Department.

My name is Joe Childs, and i am the director of the Guitar Department here at Sacred Heart Academy. I have been teaching here since September 2000. I am experienced with many styles of music including classical, jazz, blues, rock, country, and bluegrass. I also play some banjo, and performed electric bass on two of the schools musicals. Outside of Sacred heart I am a professional musician, I own a recording studio, and my own teaching studio. I am dedicated to helping each one of my students reach their musical needs. In my class students work with scales, melodies, reading, soloing, rhythm, and improv.
