Welcome back to St. Ambrose for a new school year.   The science classes have been  enjoying anew additon to the classroom; a 10 gallon fish tank!     So far we have a fancy male guppy, two platys and a genetically altered danio glofish.   A different student is assigned each week to be responsible for the care of our new pets.  The students have christened our aquatic friends: Fergus, Shania, Rex Sinclair and Peanut Butter. Ms. Chaplek will be adding new fish, so the students are busy  thinking up new names.

Since science calculations are done in the metric system, the 6E science class applied milliliters and grams to the kitchen. They mixed up batches of chocolate chip cookie dough using metric utensils, though they did have to do some conversions from the English System for a couple of ingredients.  Ms. Chaplek took the dough home to bake. In class the next day  the students found that cookies taste good no matter what system they use.
