HAPPY NEW SEMESTER! Calendar of Events 2012 FEBRUARY 1,2, and 3 2012-2013 Madrigal auditions 4 Solo and Ensemble Festival at GVSU -various times. 28 8th Grade Transition Day. MARCH 10 LOL Second City fund-raiser at 7:30p.m. in the PAC 12 Choir Concert - free will offering for music booster scholarships; 7:30p.m. in the PAC. 15 Melodies in March Concert, featuring Chorale and Madrigals with guest conductor Duane Davis. 7:00p.m. in Pioneer Auditorium. 21, 22 District Choral Festival at Greenville High School. Times will be announced at a later date. This takes place during the day. APRIL 13, or 14 State Solo and Ensemble Festival - various times at East Kentwood High School. 26,27,28 Musical "Into the Woods". MAY 3,4 State Choral Festival (for choirs who qualified at district) Fairhaven Ministries Center, Hudsonville, Michigan 14 Choir Concert: Pioneer Choirs go POP! Awards given; 7:30p.m. in the PAC 17 Choral Cabaret Dessert 6:30p.m. at the Middle School. $5.00 plus bring a dessert to pass. 22 Senior Moment Day - It's so hard to say goodbye! MUSIC BOOSTER NEWS SECOND CITY is coming to EGR on March 10th, 2012, as part of their Laugh Out Loud Tour. This is a joint fund-raiser with Stage Boosters. Consider giving tickets to this event as holiday gifts. Tickets are now on sale. Mark your calendars and come LOL! Mrs. Brooke Dillane is the chairperson for this event. Program advertising is a great way to support this fund-raiser. Contact beehive@dillane.net for further information. VARSITY MEN'S CHORUS PERFORMS AT STATE CONFERENCE The Varsity Men's Chorus and Dr. Borst gave a lecture-demonstration at the annual Michigan Music Conference for music teachers on Saturday, January 21. Over 125 choir teachers from around the state attended the event. The students performed beautifully and behaved wonderfully! 2012-2013 CHOIR PROGRAM Women's Chorus - 9th grade Varsity Men's Chorus - 9th grade Chamber Chorale - 10th, 11th, 12th grade mixed Bella Voce - 10th, 11th, 12th grade women Madrigals - 12th grade mixed PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS AVAILABLE Mrs. Hollis Bokhout is the EGRHS vocal coach and private voice teacher. Private lessons are available to all vocal music students in class during the school day. Please contact Hollis, at 616.460.0499, for scheduling.
