Keys to School Success
Keys for School Success
Your ability to apply these logical principles in your daily life will ensure your success in high school and in the work force after high school!
#1 Be on time to school and all classes. If you must be late, get there as quickly as possible & get to work. Offer your excuse and apologies to your teacher at an appropriate time. Accept consequences maturely.
#2 Be prepared for all classes. Have necessary materials and completed assignments with you. This shows that you respect your teacher and care about your education.

#3 Keep your materials and area neat and organized. A neat classroom is a more pleasant place to be. Being organized is a valuable skill.
#4 Stay quiet, focused, and on task during lessons and independent work time. Make the most of your time here at school. Get the education you need to succeed as an adult.
#5 Hand in work you are proud of. If you hand in less than your best, you are wasting you time doing it, and my time grading it.
#6 Raise your hand and wait to be called upon before talking. This decreases unnecessary noise in the classroom while I am teaching. I will try to give you time to chat at the end of the class period. #7 Remain seated during instructional time. Raise your hand and get permission to get up during class time. This decreases unnecessary distractions in the classroom while I am teaching.

#8 Try to avoid leaving the classroom during class time. If you must leave, a signed agenda is required as your hall pass. #9 Always follow adult directions immediately. Voice any concerns or disagreements AFTER you have complied. This shows respect for authority.

#10 Negative behavior is not worth your time or attention. Ignore it! I will handle it in my own way and when I am ready.

#11 Use kind words and a composed tone of voice when addressing others. This shows that you value and respect others and that YOU expect to be treated with respect also.
#12 Follow EAST HIGH SCHOOL policies and proceedures diligently. This shows me and other adults at school that you are serious about making good choices.
