Welcome:
Welcome to Physical Science! My name is Mr. Baker and I teach science on the 8th Grade Team here at Cass Middle School. This will be my fourth year at Cass, and thirteenth year as a science teacher. Before Bartow I taught in Cobb County for six years, at an Alternative high school in Alabama for one year and at another Bama' high school for two years...so going on thirteen years in all. I'm excited to be here and cannot wait to start the 2011-2012 school year!
A Little About Me:
I am married and have a little boy who is ten, and another little squirt that just turned four years old! You will hear me talk about my sons quite often...I can't help it, I'm a proud daddy! (see pictures below.) I am a huge Star Wars fan and will incorporate it into the curriculum...you'll see! I enjoy just about anything that has to do with being outside: hiking, playing with my sons, hacky sacking, hanggliding, SCUBA, playing acoustic guitar, baseball, golf, fishing, etc. I also enjoying acting (that's why I love teaching) and traveling. I am an Educator Astronaut Teacher and have had incredible opportunities to meet amazing people (see pictures below), experience NASA facilities and play a "wannabe" astronaut. I implement these experiences into the classroom...trying to make the environment engaging, real-world like and entertaining.
