Homework Policy: Homework packets will be sent out every Tuesday and due back on the following Monday. It is the students responsibility to make sure that his/her homework is completed and returned to class by Monday.It is imprtant to establish a homework rutine right away. For example, Mondays can be Spelling night and read for 20mins. I will not overwhelm them with homework but I will use it as a practice tool to help them understand what we are learning in each subject. If you wait until the weekend to do all the homework it becomes diffucult for the studnet and the parents and I have found that the students are not focused and don't retain the material. To Parents: Concerning the spelling words Pretest list. You can help your child study for the Post test by following these simple steps for each word on the word list: 1. Reteach your child the rule and skills for the weeks spelling words. 2.Read the word to your child. 3.Have your child write the word, saying each letter as it is written. 4.Say each letter of the word as your child checks the spelling. 5.If a mistake has been made, have your child read eachletter of the correctly spelled word aloud, and then repeat steps 1-3. Note: Besides The weekly homework packet, students will also be given homework on a daily basis sometimes( such as Finishclass work, research for information and so on). Please do check,thus, the due date and assignment on their agenda books. Students are old enough to write their homework assignemts by themselves on their agenda this year.
