Math: We will be learning Geometry terms(faces, vertex, vertices, edges). We will be learning about new plane figures such as quadrilateral, parallelogram and learning that congruent figures have the same shape and size.
Language Arts: This month's Read Aloud is The Tiger Rising by one of their favorite authors Kate DiCamillo. The story is about a boy who finds a caged tiger in the woods. We will continue our guided reading and have lessons in comprehension and main ideas. We will finish our compliment books, practice writing letters and write a "how to" guide on blowing a bubble.
In Grammar we will practice using adjectives and learning new adjectives. We will learn how to use a or an in front of a word, practice our adverbs and synonyms and antonyms.
Science: Hopefully we will be inspiring future doctors this month by learning about how our heart and lungs work. We will learn how to take our pulse, what is our pulse and what is in our blood(nutrients, oxygen, germ killers).
We will learn what happens when we breathe in/out, body parts of the lungs(diaphragm, muscles) and lung diseases.
Social Studies: We will continue to study the map of the United States and learn where each state is geographically and the capital of each state.
