Welcome to eighth grade!

Welcome to eighth grade language arts!

       During your eighth grade year, we will continue building upon the foundations of what you have already learned. We will be reading interesting literature, writing about interesting topics, and sharpening all of your skills--not just for use in school, but for future success in all you do.

      Our reading in the eighth grade literature text and in novels will be done during class time.  If desired, students will be allowed to check out literature books  for reading at home. Everyone will be encouraged to check out library books for additional reading.

     We will, of course, be preparing for the TAKS.

The first test date for eighth grade reading is March 3.  Our goal is for everyone to pass the first time!
