Many Americans found ways to defer (put off) serving, others cooperated and reported for duty, and still others became "draft dodgers".

Read about the draft and then determine whether or not you would have been a draft dodger. What should be the punishment for draft dodgers? Do you agree with Carter's treatment of Vietnam draft dodgers? Why or why not?
