Bearcat Belle Tryouts, March 8-12, 2012

• • Open to girls who are going to be 10th-12th graders for the 2012-2013 school year
  • Freshmen must be a current member of Pom Squad or Freshmen Cheerleaders to be eligible to try out. Sophomores and Juniors may be in Pom Squad, Belles, JV Cheer,  or a member of one sport or two clubs (in good standing with those groups).
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA and NO out-of-school suspensions.

Cheerleader Tryouts, March 15-18, 2012

• For Freshmen, JV and Varsity Cheerleader Squads
• Open to girls who are going to be 9th-12th graders for the 2012-2013 school year
• Incoming freshmen must have a 2.0 GPA and NO out-of-school suspensions for 8th grade.
• Current Freshmen must be a current member of Pom Squad or Freshmen Cheerleaders to be eligible to try out. Current Sophomores and Juniors may be in Pom Squad, Belles, JV Cheer,  or a member of one sport or two clubs (in good standing with those groups).
• Current 9th-11th graders must have a 2.0 GPA and NO out-of-school suspensions.

Ruston High Cheerleaders...NCA Game Time National Champs for the 2nd Year in a Row!

RHS Cheerleaders are Triple LHSAA State Champions and Bearcat Belles are State Runner-Up!

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) hosted the inaugural State Cheer and Dance Championship on December 3, 2011, in Lake Charles. Over 1,300 cheerleaders and dancers statewide competed in numerous divisions, hoping to be named the first-ever State Champions. Ruston High School Cheerleaders and Bearcat Belles both competed. In their first experience with competition ever, the Bearcat Belles competed in the High School Hip Hop Division and were named State Runner Up. They will compete at NDA Nationals in Orlando in March. The RHS Competition Cheerleaders competed in four divisions--Non-Tumbling Performance, Timeout Cheer, Fight Song and Timeout Dance. They were named State Champions in Non-Tumbling, Timeout Cheer and Fight Song. The cheerleaders won 3 of the 11 cheer divisions of the state championship and will compete at NCA Senior and Junior High Nationals in January in Dallas. Congratulations to these young ladies! They represented RHS well.
