ZERO TOLERANCE
OFFENSES
*The offenses listed
below are considered Zero Tolerance Offenses according to GCSD Policy 6.309 and
will not be tolerated. Consequences are in accordance with
the policy. When it has been determined that a student is in
violation of this policy, the school principal will notify the students parent
or guardian and the criminal justice or juvenile delinquency system as is
required by law.*
Weapons &
Dangerous Instruments
(Including, but not
limited to a firearm or anything made for the purpose of inflicting death or
serious bodily harm, or any object that could be used in such a way as to cause
death or serious bodily harm. *In accordance with GCSD Policy 6.309 students in
violation of this policy shall be subject to suspension or expulsion from
school.
Firearms
*In accordance with
state law, students who bring or possess a firearm on school property shall be
expelled from school for a period of not less than one
year.
(Upon any administrator,
faculty, staff, resource officer, or other employee of GCSSD): *In accordance
with state law, students who commit battery against an administrator, faculty,
staff, resource officer, or other employee of the GCSSD shall be expelled for a
period of not more than one year.
Drugs and Drug
Paraphernalia
(Includes controlled
substances and legend drugs) *In accordance with state law, students unlawfully
possessing any drug including controlled substances and legend drugs shall be
expelled for a period of not less than one year.
Administrative
Consequences include, but are not limited to: Conference with Administrator,
Conference with Guidance Counselor, Loss of Reward Day, loss of privileges for
all school events, Afterschool Detention, Saturday School, In-School Suspension,
Out of School Suspension, community service on School grounds, the parents being
called to pick up their child.
