About the Clinic

Staffing Hours

 

  • The clinic is staffed with a Licensed Vocational Nurse   Beth Limbrick became a school nurse in 1993.  She is on duty from 7:30a.m. Until 4:00p.m., Monday through Friday (lunch is from 1:15p.m. until 2:15p.m.). The clinic phone numbers are 512-398-0890 or 512-398-0782.
  • The clinic is also staffed with a Health Assistant with 7 years in the clinic. She is on duty from 7:25a.m. Until 3:25p.m. Monday through Friday (lunch is from 12:30 until 1:00p.m.).

 Medications

 

  • As parents, you must fill out and return a Consent Form to the clinic before any prescription or over-the – counter medications can be dispensed.
  • The prescription medication must by in a pharmacy labeled bottle with the correct student's  name and medication on it. The over-the-counter medications must be in their original packages.
  • Please remember that the clinic cannot give any " As Needed " medications  before 10:00a.m. or after 2:00p.m. This rule is for your student’s safety. If you call the nurse and ask her to give your student  a medication before 10:00a.m., that is permissible.
  • Tylenol will be given to students with fever 100.2 or higher with parents permission.

 Reasons to Call the Parents

 

  • If your student has a temperature of 100.4 or above, vomits more than once has diarrhea, you will be notified to pick your student up.
  • Serious Injuries that result in students not being able to go through the school day.

 

Immunizations

 

  • All students enrolled in our school must have the following immunizations:
  1. Their 4th tetanus after their fourth birthday.
  2. Their 3rd polio after their fourth birthday.
  3. Their 1st measles, mumps, and rubella after their 1st birthday and a 2nd measles before starting school.
  4. Completed their Hepatitis B vaccine (three in the series) before starting school.
  5. Varicella vaccine or Chickenpox disease before they start school.

Please notify the clinic if your child has any special needs.

 

The Clinic staff takes a special interest in your child as an individual and wants to provide the best care for him / her. She also feels that the student should be in school as much as possible and tries to keep them in the classroom if at all possible. She will work with the teachers and parents to keep your child healthy as possible.
