My experience beagn on the long , exhausting, and overcrowded bus ride to this non-picturable place. I kept trying to imagine in my head what this place could possibly be and or look like...but I was soon to find out, because upon my arrival, reality struck! I could see then, that it was a place outside my comfort zone, isolated from familiar territory, and an absolute cut off of communication from my urban enviroment. My stomach started to do flips at the site of all kinds of animal waste and our temporary homes of residence. Down through the slowly passing hours of our new lifestyles, i began to quickly adapt, as I took on the real life struggles, and responsibilites of the country/family I was assigned to. Comfortable. Happy. Content..I was not on this trip. But despite all of that, and all the alliances formed, the war that broke loose, the scarce supply of food, the unfit living conditions..I enjoyed myself and appreciated the life changing experience afterwards.

The experience at Heifer Ranch was AWESOME!! The most memorable moment that I had there was when Thailand wanted to trade with Zambia for their potatoes and spices but the Zambian was satisfied with what they had and didn’t wanted to trade. After what was thought to be settled between Thailand and Zambia. Thailand went back to their homes and decided to tell the refugee to steal Zambia food and for their work Thailand will share their food with them. The refugee distracted the Zambian and successfully stole their food leaving the Zambian with nothing. Even though Thailand asked the Zambian to join the feast they rejected right on the spot. They stuck together and end up starving the whole night. This experiment shows me that some countries don’t need help from stronger countries. It tells that they are satisfied with what they have and don’t need anymore. For example; the refugees started out with nothing and ended up stealing but later they compromise with other countries and started helping with labor in exchange for food. If they really needed help they would have ask rather then stronger countries just assuming and causing a riot. Even though we could have started out with compromise and agreement but we all know that not how everything work in the real world. Without the drama there wouldn’t have been the experience, the excitement or even a story to tell.
