September is Cold and Flu awareness month. Please visit our swine flu link to see current information on the Swine flu in our district.
October 26th through October 30th is Red Ribbon Week. Encourage your child to make the right choice and say no drugs and alcohol.
November is American Diabetes Month. There are approximately 23.6 million children and adults in the United States who have diabetes.
December is winter awareness month. Winter officially starts December 21st. Please remember to dress your child appropriately for school. Coats, hats, and gloves are very important. Even if you drive your child to school they will go out for recess.
January is National Eye Care month. Remember to visit your eye doctor yearly. If your child will be starting Kindergarten it is now a state requirement for all incoming Kindergarten students to have an eye exam done by a licenced eye doctor before starting school.
February is Dental Health month. Remember to visit your dentist 2 times per year and brush at least 2 times per day. Floss daily, and stay away from soda and fruit juices which have high fructose content.
March is Nutrition Awareness Month. You should eat a well balance diet daily and stay away from sugary snacks and sweets.
April is National Youth Sports Safety Month. Get out and get involved. But remember to use the proper safety equipment before playing any sport or game.
May is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. Be mindful of air quality and keep your inhaler with you at all times. You never know when your asthma may be triggered.
