The students did an good job on their newspaper articles.

Please make sure that students use the entire month to complete the project and that they follow the project outline. 

I look forward to seeing their puppets this month.

 

March Book Report

Biography

Imagine that the person you read about walked into your classroom and introduced himself or herself.  What would he or she say?  How would the person talk, act, and dress?  For this project you will read a biography and write a description of the person and important events in their life.    You will complete the information on the attached activity sheet.  The activity sheet will need to be turned in with your project.  Additionally, you will make a puppet dressed up as the famous person in your book.  You will need to find out what the person looked like and how he or she dressed.  The puppet will be used during your oral presentation.    You will prepare a short presentation as if you are the subject of your biography, using your puppet as a prop.  At the close of your presentation you will answer questions prepared by your classmates about this person.  Always practice your oral presentation before the day you present.  Remember, you should either memorize the presentation, or use note cards to reference during your project.  Be creative and have fun.

Project Timeline:

March 1-5:  Begin looking for a biography.  Please make sure that the book you choose is at an appropriate reading level and that the content is appropriate.

March 8-17:  Read your biography.

March 17-24:  The activity sheet will come home.  Begin working on your activity sheet, puppet, and oral presentation.

March 25:  Presentations will begin.
