HSPA (High School Proficiency Assessment)

The High School Proficieny Assessment will be adminstered in October 2009 and March 2010.  Any student expected to graduate in 2010 who has not yet taken the HSPA or who is required to re-take the HSPA will test at the October adminstration.   Juniors and students projected to graduate in 2011 will take the HSPA during the March administration.  The HSPA, which includes Math and English is the required test for high school graduation.  Students with concerns or questions about the HSPA should see their Guidance Counselor.

 

AP (Advanced Placement Testing)

All students taking an Advanced Placement course should take the AP test.  Tests are given during the first two weeks of May.  For questions, please contact Mrs. Schwartz at extension 3345.

 

 

PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)

The PSAT is will be administered on Saturday, October 17, 2009. College bound students are encouraged to take the PSAT in October of their Junior year.  Information regarding registration will be announced at school in September prior to the test. 

The cost of the PSAT is $20.00 CASH.  Checks will not be accepted.

** All College Bound Juniors should take the 2009 PSAT/NMSQT to be considered for the scholarships to be awarded in 2009 through the National Merit Scholarship Program.

 

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)

Test Dates at Hamilton West High School

The SAT & Subject Tests will be offered at Hamilton West High School on Saturday, November 7, 2009.  The cost of the test is $41.50.  Registration can be completed by mail or online.  Registration and preparation booklets are available in the Guidance Office.  To register online please visit www.collegeboard.com.  This site also offers information about other test administration dates and locations.

 

ACT (American College Testing)

Students choosing to take the ACT can access information and can register for this test online at www.actstudent.org.  The cost of the ACT is $43.00 (Including the optional Writing section).  This test is not administered at Hamilton West High School.  Please be sure to verify that individual colleges accept ACT Scores.
