YOUNG FIVES
March 19, 2012
St. Patrick’s Day - Our rainbow salad was a huge success and enjoyed by many. After we added the fruit into a rainbow of colors in a huge glass bowl, the fruit began talking and wanting to get to know each other. The children helped share kind and friendly words that would guide the fruit to meet each other as I began mixing them together. If you get a chance, ask your child what the fruit were saying to each other!!
Little Readers – This activity has continued to be such a benefit to each child as they progress at their own rate. With this in mind, I have chosen to work individually with students during our choice times throughout each day.
Letter of the Week – We completed the letter “S” last week and this week’s focus is on the letter “T”. It is so perfect since we are also learning about our seasons, thunderstorms and sunny days!
Spring Conferences – During this week, the students will be making a special conference booklet for me to share with their parents at conferences.
I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss your child’s progress. Please be prompt or a little early so we can start right on time. Our time is limited to 15 minutes.
Seasons – Each child has created their own lift-up book about the four seasons. We will make another one about weather. Watch for this next delightful book to come home next week! We have also created a class book about our favorite season. I will have this class book on display during conferences.
