IB Marks Reporting
|
|
Ongoing assessment happens in each of the criterion areas. At the end of a marking period, a score of 1-10 is assessed in each area to arrive at a total between one and thirty. That 1-30 score is then converted to the IB marking scale. Parents of 9th graders should keep in mind that a score of 10 on the Language A rubric is the ideal and is still uncommon, even for a 10th grader finishing the Middle Years Programme. Progress on the seven-point scale is gained over all four years of high school, with a seven being the highest achievable score for a senior graduating from the Diploma Programme. IB marks may not necessarily correlate exactly with the student's grade in the class. | Criterion A | Content (receptive and productive) | Maximum 10 | | Criterion B | Organization | Maximum 10 | | Criterion C | Style and language mechanics | Maximum 10 | | Language A | | Grade | Boundaries | | 1 | 0 - 4 | | 2 | 5 – 9 | | 3 | 10 - 14 | | 4 | 15 - 19 | | 5 | 20 - 23 | | 6 | 24 - 27 | | 7 | 28 - 30 |
