VENNEMAN. | | | | SCHOLARSHIPS: Make sure you have everything the scholarship application asks for when sending in your scholarship. CHECK and DOUBLE CHECK. You dont want to go to all that work and have your scholarship app denied because you forgot something. (Added 3/2/2012) ALSO: Make sure you have the correct postage on your scholarships when you mail them. If you are using a large manilla envelope, it requires extra postage. If a regular envelope weighs over a certain amount, it requires extra postage. An example: The BSF Scholarship application will probably require extra postage. Kirkwood Community College Scholarships. Visit www.kirkwood.edu/scholarships to learn about the multitude of scholarships available to everyone and every major. Robert D. Blue Scholarship. Deadline May 10, 2012. Must attend an Iowa school and be able to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability; exhibit qualities of truth, courage, and fellowship; and display moral force of character. See application for all details. Go to www.rdblue.org. Iowa Pork Promotions Inc. Ag Communications/Ag Journalism Scholarship. Deadline May 14, 2012. Must enroll in a college or university in Iowa. Major in Ag Communications or Ag Journalism and maintain a 2.5 GPA. See application for all rules. Go to www.iowapork.org for more info. Mae Henry Family & Consumer Science Award. Deadline May 15, 2012. Any graduate from the Grant Wood AEA region with an interest in pursuing a career in the area of Family and Consumer Science is eligible. See application for all details. Application available to print at the bottom of this page under related files. The Balanced Man Scholarship. Deadline June 2, 2012. Must be a male who is going to attend ISU. Must show high academic achievements, prominent leadership skills, and involvement in various athletic or organized activities. For more info and an app go to www.iowastatesigep.com. You do not have to join the fraternity in order to receive the scholarship. Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program. Deadline June 15, 2012. Award of up to $1000. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website. http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm Iowa PGA-Charlie Burkart Scholarship. Deadline June 15, 2012. Selection on the basis of your interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, then on academic ability and financial need. All student athletes are eligible for the award. Visit http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply. Iowa Barber & Cosmetology Arts and Sciences Tuition Grant. Deadline July 1, 2012. Based on Financial need to those attending participating Iowa barber and cosmetology colleges. Go to www.iowacollegeaid.gov for more information. 2012 AES Engineers Scholarship.
