Many volunteers are needed for Events and Fundraising Activities, as described in those sections. In addition, volunteers are needed to serve in the roles described below:
The officers for the current school year are named in the Officers section. A brief description of their responsibilities follows: Officers
Co-President (two) - serves as head of the PTO Board and the organization; sets the agenda for and chairs the meetings; serves as the PTO representative to the the School Board, school and district administrators, school committees and other organizations; heads volunteer recruitment and ensures that all events are appropriately approved and planned for. Co-Vice President (two) - serves as alternate to the Co-Presidents, and helps with fundraising and events as needed. Corresponding Secretary (one or two) - handles communications for the PTO as webmaster and/or email/elert manager (see description of responsiblities below). Recording Secretary (one or two) - attends meetings and records minutes. Treasurer (one) - maintains the PTO budget and accounts, pays expenses directly or through reimbursement. Teacher Representative (one or two) - a teacher who serves as liaison on behalf of and with the academic staff. Website Manager A person is needed to serve as webmaster. No special web design software is needed, as this site was created using the onlines services provided by MyTeacherPages (at SchoolWorld). Directions and support are provided via the the site management pages provided. The webmaster needs access to the internet (a fast connection doesn't hurt) and should be reasonably computer saavy, able to organize information and follow simple guidelines. The ability to create documents (Word, Excel, pdf, etc.) and work with images to be added to the site will greatly benefit, but are not essential. Knowledge of HTML is not essential, but will also benefit. Email (Elert) Manager A person is needed to organize and maintain a list of email addresses for participants, and should be available to send out email reminders and special announcements (elerts) to those individuals prior to meetings and events. Not Sure where to help? If you're generally available to help out during the day or the evenings, you can sign up for either Any Daytime Activity, or Any Evening Activity, and we'll contact you if enough volunteers aren't signed up for a specific event. We can always use the backup! The designation of co-officers helps to ensure that one person is always available to meet the responsibilities of the position.
