We continue to read nursery rhymes to the children in Early childhood. We are going to be reading Humpty Dumpty the week of May 7.

In Pre-K, I read The Three Little Tamales by Eric A. Kimmel in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. I will be reading Dancing Feet by Lindsey Craig the week of May 7 and Toyboat by Randall DeSeve the week of May 14.

 In Kindergarten we will be reading Little Cloud by Eric Carle and Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems.

We continue to read fairy tales in first grade.  We have just finished Rumpelstiltskin, and our next fairy tale will be Stone Soup.

I am reading Scranimals by Jack Prelutsky to the students in Grade 2

The students in Grade 3 are in the middle of their research activity about the undersea creatures in the book Down Down Down by Steve Jenkins. 

The students in Grade 4 are now reading The Orphan of Ellis Island by Elvira Woodruff in preparation for Ellis Island Day. 

The fifth grade students are researching an important person from the Colonial era.  They will create a wanted poster for that person and give an oral report.

Students continue to check out books each week.
