Dear Parents, April 20, 2012
I wonder if you feel as the teachers at CTK do. Time is just flying by. The days are melting into weeks. They say that time passes quickly if you’re having a good time or perhaps we’re just aging (or should I rephrase that to “growing up”?). Thank you to all of you who tried to have your child to bed on time and also providing a good breakfast. Next week we have a similar routine. It’s early to bed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for all those taking NYS math tests. Also, a good breakfast provides fuel for the brain so try to have your child eat Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
I found the testing to be long. A quick glance showed that most did pretty well on the writing pieces. There were questions within the test that were “trial” questions to be used on future tests. Not every answer will be scored for your child’s rating. I’m not sure when you’ll receive the results. Last year it was in September, but I think they’re trying to get them back a bit sooner in 2012.
We have reviewed and practiced in class so the children are used to the types of questions that will be asked.
May 1st is a week and a half away. If you have not already sent in the permission slip and money for the
Our class elected our May Day class representatives. We reviewed the qualities that we admire in Our Lady and then thought about those who exemplified these qualities in day-to-day life. We’re proud to announce that the class has chosen: Emily Baldo and Shannon Ferran.
Just a reminder: All spring pictures must be returned if you are not buying them. Please send the pictures that you wish to return and the payment for those that you wish to purchase by Monday, April 23.
I think that we’re all looking forward to April 30th when we can get back to our regular schedule. Thank you for being patient as we complete the NYS testing.
Enjoy your weekend.
